    Tareq Bagaeen is a hotelier down to each fiber of his being and a true globally oriented commercial leader. He thrives through client interactions and striking sound business deals. Throughout his career, he has held sales and marketing responsibilities whether on property or from a regional directive covering dozens of hotels and his journey has taken him to lead teams and handle clients in over 100 countries; giving him a pragmatic approach to varied cultures, economic up or downturns, monopolized or aggressively competitive market places and pushing out brands from the budget range right up to the highest spectrums of luxury. Throughout his commercial excellence journey, Tareq has trained senior associates from Rosewood Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, Kerzner International, Rotana, Mövenpick Hotels, Accor and W Hotels to name a few. He has also conducted sales programs for financial institutions, the insurance industry, real estate development firms, as well as travel management firms.   • Karl Hudson AREA VP AT MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL - THAILAND, VIETNAM, CAMBODIA & MYANMAR

    Karl Hudson is based in Bangkok and responsible for leading the Area Team and overseeing Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Myanmar. Karl has over 30 years of experience in hospitality and in 1996 started with Marriott International in his first role as Director of Food & Beverage at the Renaissance Sydney Hotel (now Sydney Harbour Marriott). In 1999 he was appointed as the Director of Food & Beverage and then Director of Rooms at the Shenyang Marriott, China. His first General Manager role came in 2003 at the Cebu City Marriott followed by General Manager assignments at Sanya Marriott Resort & Spa, China and Renaissance Harbour View Hong Kong. In 2011, Karl was promoted to Multi-Property Vice President for Hong Kong and in 2012 his role was expanded to Market Vice President for South China and additionally Japan in 2013. Karl became Area Vice President of Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia & Japan in May 2014. Karl’s deep knowledge of Asian culture and languages is coupled with his proven track record in driving stellar results.

    Just like you, hotelier and facilitator John Timson has experienced firsthand the rapid evolution of learning and development. With these changes, now more than ever the question must be “How do we ensure the sessions we run actually create behavioural change?”
    With over 20 years in the field, John has developed a unique insight into the complexities of leadership, team dynamics and organisational excellence. It is the fusion of his work as an operator and his natural presenting style that both engages and challenges his audience to be intrinsically motivated on their journey. John is the Director of AccorHotels Academie and Talent Development for Upper South East and North East Asia and has represented AccorHotels on a number of advisory committees.

  • Andrew Turner REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT & MANAGING DIRECTOR, ROSEWOOD HOTELS

    With over 25 years of experience at the sharp end of luxury in the hospitality business, Andrew Turner is a consummate hotelier through and through. His professional journey has placed him in ten different countries, including Asia, Europe, The United States, Australia and The Middle East, just to name a few. During his 13 years at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Andrew held various senior leadership roles before moving under the wing of Horst Schulze, the original founder of Ritz-Carlton, to his new enterprise; Capella Hotels & Resorts. He then moved to Minor International to manage The Anantara in Phuket, Thailand. An exciting turn came when Andrew was relocated to New York City in order to open a property so incredibly unique, the Baccarat Hotel, where he firmly placed that asset in global regard before returning to Thailand to open and manage The Rosewood, Phuket. Andrew’s focus has always been on his teams, to drive them, share his passion and relay these messages through memorable experiences to his guests while continuing to showcase phenomenal energy and drive.

  • Andrew Langston EXEC. VICE PRESIDENT, ASSET MANAGEMENT THAILAND & INDO CHINA

    Andrew Langston is currently Executive Vice President, Asset Management with the JLL team with a primary focus of growing its platform throughout Thailand and the rest of the Indochina region. Based out of Bangkok, Andrew works closely with its teams in Thailand and Singapore along with Tasos on Asset Management, Operator Selection mandates and provides invaluable expertise on hotel operations, contract negotiations, brand standards and owner relationships. Before joining JLL, Andrew served Banyan Tree Hotels & Resort as Vice President, Hotel Operations, Asia and was overseeing all hotel operations, future developments and openings of new hotels for the region. Andrew was intimately involved in sourcing new management agreements and representing Banyan Tree to hotel owners. Prior to his eight years with Banyan Tree and as part of his 20-year stint with IHG, Andrew held countless managerial positions, including regional general manager in Australia then general manager appointments in Thailand, Australia, Philippines, Singapore and Papa New Guinea.

    Debrah Pascoe Executive Vice President, Commercial - ONYX Hospitality

    Providing leadership to all of ONYX Hospitality Group’s commercial functions, Debrah has more than 27 years of experience in hospitality with a proven track record of building teams and achieving strong results. Joining ONYX Hospitality Group in 2012 as Vice President of Sales, Debrah’s areas of responsibility have expanded in line with the company’s dynamic growth and increased regional presence. Prior to joining ONYX, she with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for over 10 years in various locations including Singapore, Thailand, Oman, Indonesia, Malaysia and Fiji. She also led the sales and marketing pre-opening team at Palazzo Versace in Queensland, Australia.

  • Alejandro Bernabe
    Alejandro Bernabe Vice President, Operations, AVANI Hotels & Resorts

    Born and raised in Spain, Alejandro completed his early educational years in Madrid by studying business at the St Louis University in Madrid. In 1990, he relocated to the United States and, only two years later, graduated cum Laude with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As his focus on hospitality became clear, Alejandro furthered his formal development with a Hotel Management degree from the Hotel Institute Montreux, Switzerland. In 2006, he went on to obtain an Executive MBA from the Reims Management School, France and, several years later, an Asset Management Certification from The Cornell Hotel School.
    Alejandro joins us with extensive and diverse international work experience. In 1998, he embarked on an extraordinary journey of over 20 years with Kempinski Hotels which took him to some of their most exciting locations in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. His early steps on the ladder were in Food & Beverage in Jakarta, St. Petersburg and Istanbul. In 2002, he assumed the Resident Manager role at the Kempinski Resort Hotel Estepona, Spain before being promoted to General Manager in Malta at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz Gozo. After succeeding assignments in Kuwait, Jordan and the U.A.E., he moved to Bangkok as Vice President South East Asia in 2013 and, a year later, was promoted to CEO of Kempinski Hotels. With changes in ownership of Kempinski in 2017, Alejandro joined Minor International as Group Director of AVANI Hotels and Resorts in Thailand before taking on his current position as Vice President, Operations.
